The two teams took turns breaking serve but Central Catholic held on to take the first set, 25-20. The game was tied four more times until the Vikettes took a 19-15 lead thanks to an ace by Springs and a kill by Amelia Michener. It looked like business as usual for Parkland early on as the Trojans jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the first set only to see Central Catholic battle back to tie the game at 11 on a kill by Emerson Springs. Thursday night at Whitehall High School, Allentown Central Catholic put Parkland through a high-pressure match and the Trojans responded with 3-2 victory over the Vikettes to earn the EPC championship. Only once were the Trojans pushed to a fourth set, so it was impossible to know for sure how they would respond to real pressure. The Parkland girls volleyball team worked its way through the regular season without facing much adversity.
